72,000 employees in 140 countries work together to sustainably improve the health of people and animals. In Austria alone, MSD has three sites in Vienna and Krems with around 950 employees.

MSD Austria operates comprehensive production activities for human and animal health at three sites – two in Vienna and one in Krems. The Vienna site in the Icon Tower focuses on human medicine, in particular oncology, immuno-oncology and vaccines, as well as the production of veterinary medicines. The second Viennese site, Intervet GesmbH, employs around 420 people and plays a key role in the production of veterinary pharmaceuticals. A further animal health production site is located in Krems an der Donau, specialising in the manufacture of vaccines. Around 300 highly specialised staff are currently employed there, and this number is expected to rise to 350 in the coming years. A large proportion of the animal health products manufactured in Austria are exported worldwide.

Training opportunities at MSD

At MSD we offer a wide range of training opportunities for people from a variety of backgrounds. We currently have apprenticeship opportunities at our Intervet GesmbH site in Vienna. Positions and functions are available in Sales and Medical as well as in the general maintenance and supply of production lines, equipment and buildings (Procurement, Supply Chain). We are also pleased to announce that we will be offering additional training opportunities at the Krems site from 2025. This will open up even more options and career opportunities for interested applicants.
